HP OfficeJet Linux driver
The HP OfficeJet Linux driver provides printing, scanning, and photo-card access support for most Hewlett-Packard multi-function peripherals connected to a parallel port, USB port, or LAN via selected HP JetDirect print servers. Additional applications are provided to view the contents of the front-panel LCD and to access other control and status features of the device.

Changes: This release introduces a new, more robust low-level driver with support for both USB and parallel port connections, and adds a command-line scanning application for several models not yet supported by SANE. It also enhances the support for JetDirect-connected peripherals, updates the xojpanel LCD application with the ability to co-exist better with other applications or copies of itself, and features an improved installation process and documentation.

Changes: This release adds bugfixes in the low-level drivers to address scanning lockups, module unloading problems, and compatibility with SMP and 2.4 kernels. It introduces an easier method to set up printing and updates the xojpanel application, which displays the contents of the LCD panel.

Changes: Scanning support (via SANE) for flatbed OfficeJets was added. Basic driver support for LaserJet 1100A was added. The kernel drivers were fixed so that they compile on Alpha Linux.
