Screenshot About:
This is an IDE for the development of C++ KDE applications. It includes code completion, dynamic syntax highlighting, and popup function parameter lookup. Debugging is simplified by tight integration with kdbg, and comprehensive documentation is provided. KDE Studio supports complex projects composed of multiple executables and static or shared libraries all in one workspace, and includes support for multiple targets from a single project. Classes can be explored using a tree view, which is updated on the fly as you code. Bookmarks can be placed in your code to speed up navigation. KDE Studio has integrated support for Qt Designer and KBabel.

[»] It looks amazing but...
by reduz - Jan 27th 2001 11:37:32

This IDE looks incredible. Really by far the most complete visually.
But seems to just be aimed to QT/KDE. I've been playing around with it for days but couldnt figure out how to make a non QT/KDE
project template. The existing project template (QT/KDE) is complex to understand (specially for a non QT programer), and even when I remove everything that looks like QT/KDE code from autotools/code templates/etc. keeps adding references to that in whathever I try to code. If you're looking for a cool IDE to develop a non QT/KDE app, better not mess with this for now.

Amazingly, it is called... KDEStudio. This to me means that it is aimed at making KDE applications, not GTK or FLTK or Win32 apps. I don't think that people who do not want to program KDE apps will actually try to use this. Anyway, the whole idea of these IDEs is Rapid Application Development (GUI interface editors help so much) as opposed to creating the most beautifully crafted and exquisite code ever. Anyway, this project is looking good. Now if they could add some kind of KDEPerlStudio, KDECStudio, KDEPythonStudio, KDEJavaStudio, etc, then this would truly be the best IDE in the world.

what? the amount of people who uses kdevelop to program normal C/C++/gnome/GTK is really big. even when it doesnt mean RAD, the ide is great.

afaik they can charge whatever they want for distribution,
but you can also do the same redistributing it.
so once you buy it, you can redistribute it FREE.

Look under the "projects" heading, then go to the item you want to download source from. It's there, you just have to hunt it down.
