Solo on the Keyboard is an authorized touch typing tutorial which guarantees solid typing skills in 30 hours of enjoyable yet responsible work. The course is available for QWERTY (US and UK) and Dvorak keyboard layouts as well as Italian and Russian touch typing courses. This course is the fruit of detailed experimental research done by Dr. Vladimir Shahidzhanjan, a psychologist and a journalist.

Changes: Various bugfixes were made. Builds for Debian 4.0, FreeBSD 6.2, Ubuntu 7.04, Mandriva 2007, and openSuSE 10.2 have been added. Desktop integration for Debian-based distributions has been fixed. There are small design improvements.


Changes: Bugs in course files were fixed. The context menu was moved to a seperate button on the bottom of the window. Typing speed calculation is more precise. It's possible to switch on and off parts of the on-screen keyboard. The on-screen keyboard can be automatically scaled. Debug messages were moved to a log-file (by default, ~/.Ergosolo/Solo8/solo8.log). The sound system can be selected between OSS and ALSA. An animated window header was added. It's possible to inherit the theme of the user's desktop environment. A lot of bugs were fixed. Builds for Slackware 10.2, AltLinux Compact 3.0 were added. A Gentoo e-build was added.
