KnowledgeTree

Changes: This release, for both community and commercial editions, includes a number of new features and enhancements. These include seamless integration of Microsoft Office with KnowledgeTree, improvements to search and indexing engines for higher quality search results, core API and REST interfaces for integration with other applications and services, a text extraction engine for improved cross-platform stability, and installers and upgrade installers for Windows and Linux in the KnowledgeTree stack.

Changes: This Community release adds a new core API and RESTful interface to facilitate integration with other applications and services, a new text action engine to provide greater UTF-8 support (ideographic character search) and improved s-platform stability, improvements to search and indexing, upgraded stack components (Windows and Linux, installers and upgrade installers), and various minor improvements to performance and stability.

Changes: This is a maintenance release that contains no new features. This release focuses on improving and stabilizing the upgrade process, and on resolving a few security related issues. A number of bugs have been fixed, including issues with document alert email links and metadata versioning.

Changes: Drag and drop was added for Microsoft Windows users. The system now has all APIs required to support a tool (which is available on product registration) that allows users to drag documents from their desktop into KnowledgeTree. The BitRock network is supported, so opt-in access provides product update news and security notifications straight to the dashboard. Usability was enhanced. The code was refactored. The document indexer was improved. FireFox 3 and Ubuntu 8.04 are fully supported. Performance was improved. The logging mechanism was improved to simplify debugging. System configuration was made easier.
