Local Area Security Knoppix is a 'Live CD' distribution based on Knoppix but with a strong emphasis on security tools and small footprint. There are two different versions of L.A.S. Linux to fit two specific size requirements. There is a 185 MB version and a 210 MB version to fit on MiniCDs of the same size.

A few of the tools added are etherape, Mozilla Firebird, argus-server, argus-client, and more. Another addition of importance is Fabian Franz's 'toram' linuxrc routine, which allows one to use the boot option to copy the CD image into RAM.


Changes: This release adds gkismet, ettercap-gtk, airsnort, paketto, ClamAV, and over 40+ tools including many tools for configuring Cisco routers. It changes the default style and adds menu entries for tools with GUIs.
