Changes: This release fixed official part detection for parts in the 2008-1 LDraw library update. Generation of conditional lines on full tori was fixed to not produce invalid lines. A problem that caused invalid lighting with certain rare sub-model matrices was fixed.

Changes: Basic support for steps was added. Basic means that rotations and buffer exchanges aren't supported. POV export support was added, including LGEO support with separate XML files. MPD sub-model selection was added. Model tree view was added. SMP-awareness was implemented for conditional edges and sorted transparency. A native Cocoa version was added for Mac OS.

Changes: This release adds the ability to generate an HTML parts list of your model. It adds the ability to set the direction in which the light source points, both with predefined light directions in the Preferences Dialog, and by holding down Shift and dragging with the mouse. It adds support for light.dat files in LDraw models. Unless disabled, these will generate point light sources in the scene, up to a total of 8 lights. It adds the ability to use LDView to generate thumbnails of .ldr and .mpd files in Windows Explorer and Gnome Nautilus.

Changes: Download and installation of the LDraw parts library was automated. So if you install and run LDView on a clean machine, it will do all the work of getting the latest version of the LDraw parts library installed for you. If you already have the LDraw parts library, you can still continue to use the one you already have with this version. Updating of the LDraw parts library was automated. Automatic searching is done for unofficial parts in the LDraw parts tracker when a file cannot be found locally. The ability to generate a POV-Ray compatible camera statement based on the current view in LDView was added.
