Better than Notepad
I tend to use a variety of text editors, but on Linux I've always been missing the "Notepad for Windows" replacement. This is it, and a bit better. It's small and simple, and that is it's beauty. It's now set up on my machine as my default text-editor. It won't do everything of course, but for late night programming, there is always gvim and others.
