About:
GNOME 2 is a new desktop environment which is an extension to GNOME 1, but is built in such a way that they can coexist. libgnome is one of the core libraries for GNOME 2. It is dependent on the new toolkit GTK 2 and the new Object Activation Framework (Bonobo).
