Lintouch

Lintouch is an implementation of HMI (Human Machine Interface) or MMI (Man Machine Interface) software framework. It features a server/client architecture, componentized design, and is platform and architecture independent. The Lintouch architecture allows you to develop your own connectivity plugins and visualization objects.

Changes: The Modbus/TCP Plugin has been fixed to work with more devices. Lintouch Server can log all events to a file or database. The logging mechanism can be extended by developing new logging plugins.

Changes: The licensing scheme has been clarified, and all sources are available under an GPL/LGPL mix. Binary builds are available for Fedora Core 4, Opensuse 10, Debian 3.1, Ubuntu 5.04, and Windows 2000/XP.

Changes: Lintouch Editor now supports locking of templates. Locked templates do not interact with the mouse while the project is being edited, thus making editing of very complex projects with a lot of templates easier. Source code dependence on external SharedPtr and Swaloun Framework has been dropped, thus making compilation from sources easier.

Re: GPL? Still not true...
Funny, now the word "commercial" has been replaced by "available on request"...

GPL? Still not true...
After some years I checked back again - but the project still is not true GPL. There are several plugins that are commercial - it's funny that the _really_ important ones are commercial. So this software is still not free, still not real GPL and still no open source (not completely at least).

So it has nothing to do with the real idea of "free software".

This is not quite true, the project is now (since the beginning of year 2006) completely GPL, there is no commercial dependence or any restrictive license.

Could you be more specific about what parts "have to be purchased" ???

no GPL
this is no GPL project, very basic parts of the software aren't open source, they have to be purchased for very much money. so the license information lies
