Lucane is a free groupware platform written in Java, designed with extensibility in mind. Some applications are bundled with the platform, like a peer to peer quick message service, client/server and peer to peer file sharing, shared drawing, multi-user chat, audioconf, forums, a shared calendar, and more. The platform as a whole provides easy development for your networked applications with an object based network protocol, client/server and peer to peer integration, user and groups management, internationalization, and more.

Changes: The calendar has been improved with the addition of a free/ busy dialog and predefined event types. The todo list application now has dates, and a way to list all of your items. A slideshow application has been added. A Web interface has been added for most applications: Calendar, Forum, User Profile, Notes, Password Changer, RssReader, and Todolist. All known bugs have been fixed, including the one that prevented SSL from working.

As stated here (http://developer.berlios.de/forum/forum.php?forum_id=5090), we'll probably release a preview soon. If you're in a hurry, you can always get the sources from svn an compile them with maven, it's rather simple.

I am very much looking forward to the next release, The addition of view public calander feature means I may be able to start trialing it with clients as a replacement for exchange server (currently using moregroupware). A pda sync would also be invaluable!.
