Lumenation
Lumenation a complete middleware and framework environment with its own SDK, LightBulb. It is a complete browser-based WYSIWYG PHP development suite that includes an application generator, a code editor (with context and classes prompting and highlighting), a GUI application interface, record locking, record access journaling, HIPAA, FERPA, and DOD application compliance, user application logging, transaction logging, user monitoring, a library of PHP classes and data access security, report, query, and SQL builders, a source code manager, an application management system, and a virtual desktop system metaphor, and many other features.

Changes: This release automatically provisions users, applications, and data access through an LDAP interface. It is now possible to sync with directory services like Novell's eDirectory. Users are able to define how their directory structure integrates into Lumenation. A new desktop lock-down feature was implemented, which prohibits some users from changing their desktop values.

Changes: Lumenation is now provided as an RPM YaST installation for Linux. Lumen Software has completed Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9.0 testing of Lumenation and modules with 100% compliance achieved.

Changes: The PHP parameter register_globals is now off. Desktop Environment now supports IE 5.5 and 6.0 browsers. Lumen Warehouse and License Manger is released. Lumenation Developers post their solutions to the Lumen Warehouse. The Lumenation user community can locate, acquire, and plug in these modules to their Lumenation environment. New record and edit types are added in the database List and Edit classes. Help Center functionality is improved and there is a new content update. Support for Sybase has been added.

Changes: The PHP framework/middleware, Lumenation, is now distributed as a Free Run-Time License. Developers now have the ability to provide Lumenation to their users for no additional fee through this license.

Changes: The PHP Lumenation framework now provides for system defined hot keys and browser key controls. Users may also define their own hot keys to use for processing. The Back button, refresh, and others may also be disabled in the browser, as this is usually an undesired method of navigation in an information management system/application. Some of the function keys are defined here: F1 - Help Center, F2 - File Manager, F3 - Host Access Journal, F5 - Refresh Current Window (not the whole desktop). For the desktop, there is a popup menu item on desktop itself.

Lumenation, the middleware/framework is freely distributable. If you develop application in Lumenation you can distribute them. The 14 day signup is to test drive Lumenation and some of the Lumenation modules such as LightBul the Lumenation PHP Development suite, web content manager, etc. You are also able to utilize the Lumenation User Manager and User Application Manager applications as well.

On Linux a user is able to achive the highest value and TCO, but it is truly OS independent.
