mrtg

The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is a tool to monitor the traffic load on network-links. MRTG generates HTML pages containing GIF/PNG images which provide a live visual representation of this traffic.

    frustration
So i've got MRTG up and running and monitoring my networks routers, but a problem i have run into is that i will have about 4 duplicate graphs for each router interface and with 30 routers this leads to a hell of a long webpage that gets pretty confusing. anyone shared a similar experience or have any ideas. i do know that some of the interfaces i am monitoring are the outgoing segment interface (external) and incoming segment interface(internal) but on the same router. i don't know why that would create 4 graphs for each interface though.

thousands of thanks in advance for any help or light anyone can shed.

Chris.... there are.. two complety..diferent// programs, i think big brother is dessigned to network monitoring and the mrtg is for measure, the charge or the traffic of your routers..
    ;o)

I gave up with MRTG... I now use Big Brother.. it's more applicable to what i need (working, not, or attention neded).. If you want to look http://www.b4.com.

I am not connected to Big Brother in any way, just a happy user of their product.

Have you tried the config maker tool? It's located
    in /path/to/mrtg-x.x.x/ bin directory.

    The usage is cfgmaker public@yourhost
    yourhost.cfg (for example)

I assume you've got snmp all set up correctly?

    Computone setup?
Has anyone rebuilt MRTG to work with or seen MRTG work with a Computone PowerRack? I\'m in need of getting it or something else just as good to work with it. Any takers? Thanks.
