MyChineseFlashCards

The goal of MyChineseFlashCards is to ease the visual and auditory memorization of the 1,500 most used Chinese characters. To reach that goal, MyChineseFlashcards allows the user to learn characters with flash cards method; to access the characters of the dictionary in random, ascending, or descending order; to filter the characters, using one of 31 available filters; and to consult statistics on characters.

Changes: This version includes a new 'Manual writing' learning strategy: the character written by the user with the mouse is analyzed and checked by the software. It has a new 'Hearing' learning strategy: the user guesses the meaning or the writing of the character based on its pronunciation. It has character lookup by hand written character recognition. The user interface has been completely redesigned to be more user-friendly and efficient. A new 'list items number' field is available.

Changes: Flash cards are now printable. A new radical based filter was added, which will display only the characters containing a given radical. Horizontal radicals display was added. The stroke number has been added for all the simplified characters. 200 Chinese characters were added.

Changes: The user can create, update, and delete his own flash cards. There is an improved and more intuitive graphical interface. Three new character filters have been added. The menu language (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, or German) can be chosen by the user. The dictionary language (English or French) can be chosen by the user. 200 Chinese characters have been added.

Changes: Personal lists of characters may be created. Characters may be decomposed into radicals. Word examples are given for every character. An MCFC logo was created. Chinese characters were added in the commentary and tips fields. The look and the general organization of the Web site have been completely redesigned. Web pages on the Chinese writing system have been added.

Changes: This version includes a searchable database: the user can search key words in the "meaning", "pinyin", "commentary", or "memorizing tips" fields. It has a customizable Chinese character font. 100 characters have been added (700 in all). The user interface has been completely redesigned to be more user-friendly and intuitive.
