Nazghul is a computer role-playing game (CRPG) engine. If you like rogue-likes or the top-down, 2D, turn-based CRPGs that disappeared in the early 90s, then this is for you.

Recent releases

Changes: New spells. Random dungeon code has been generalized, and new random dungeons added. New items, weapons, and shopping options. Equipment now affects character speed. Many spellbooks have been added and distributed. Several tweaks to combat balance. More sprites. More high resolution terrains, and directional 'natural rock' walls. Vehicle combat maps have been upgraded.

Changes: This is a bugfix-only release, and most of the bugs are minor and will not prevent you from playing Haxima (although a few might make it a bit too easy). Save files from 0.5.5 should still work.

Changes: This release is available in source form. Major changes include multiple saved games, more meaningful use of character stats, basic character creation, and new dungeons, quests, NPC types, and characters.

Changes: Minor bugfixes and quest fixes were made. New blended terrain maps were added. Some dungeon changes were done. Reagents were made cheaper.

Changes: The biggest change is to the source distribution installer, which is more like a typical UNIX program now. Other changes include some new sprites and minor bugfixes.
