About:
Newts is a notesfile program, a news-like program
for use as a message board. Newts is designed for
UNIX-like systems, and resembles the Notesfiles
program written early in the 1980s at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The
client program included emulates the look and feel
of Notesfiles, and the UIUC backend is compatible
with Notesfiles data files. Future versions of
Newts will include a separate daemon to manage
multiple local and network connections, additional
backends, and additional clients.
