Open Mortal

Open Mortal is a parody of the once popular coin-up fighting game, Mortal Kombat, for Windows and Linux. It is currently playable, has 16 playable characters, some more in the making. New characters can be added, so players can be their own Open Mortal actor.

Changes: This release runs in high or true color video mode (instead of 256-color). There are transparent shadows. "Team mode" has been added: both players can choose many fighters to make up a team. When a fighter dies, the next in the team takes his/her place. There are new (non-proprietary) sound effects, a new character (Judy), and one new arena.

Changes: This version marks the first binary Mac OS X release of OpenMortal. Previously, only a DarwinPorts release was available, which required compiling. There are no new files for other platforms in this release.

Changes: This version features a new character, Aisha, a new arena, improvements to the network mode (so that it is a fair game for both players), a Portuguese translation, joystick and gamepad support, improved blocking, slightly better game balance, and projectiles.
