OpenScientist is an integration of open source products working together to do scientific visualization and data analysis, in particular for high energy physics (HEP). It provides a re-implementation of FreeHEP's AIDA and CERN's PAW software, graphing and data analysis software, together with a framework for combining third-party software into a single unified environment.

Changes: This release improves visualization options, adds gamepad support, and updates Python support.


Changes: OnX comes with an SDL_UI driver. The HEPVis/SoPlotter was improved to have more plotting options. Assorted minor bugfixes and updates were made.


Changes: An HDF5 driver was introduced in BatchLab. The build system was replaced with obuild. Support for CoinPython was added. Initial support was added for both Qt4 and SDL. Examples were added. Assorted code cleanups and speedups were done.


Changes: Bindings and connectors for many more data formats were added. Ports to both Mac OS X/Tiger and Cygwin were included along with bugfixes for the SGI port and many other minor fixes and enhancements.
