Query on DVD-RW
by joshi - Jul 22nd 2004 05:55:22
I appreciate the way OSS-DVD works and... Ihave just
one query....which if solved will be great....
First of all I just want to know how to write a wholeof a
partition on to DVD-RW using oss-dvd.
Then where exactly is the data written on to the DVD-RW
media in the code?????
I have tried to trace the executable ..but no clue where is
the file specified is read and writtenon to the DVD-RW
media....
thanks, cheers,
Joshi

thats inside cdrecord.c, see below. I placed
the line numbers at the beginning.
cdrecord/cdrecord.c : trackno;
..
..
1924 do {
..
..
2048 } while (tracksize < 0 || bytes_read <
tracksize);
..
..
2125 }
cheers,
Robert

New Pioneer DVR-A07D/107D rockz in combination with OSS DVD 2.01a18
by Robert M. Stockmann - Feb 10th 2004 11:10:47
http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?p=95166 :
Download the latest gear on :
http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org :
http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/DVRFlash_v1.1.zip
"http://pioneerdvd.rpc-1.com/DVR-107D v1.05 -
RPC-1 + 12xRip + 8xDVD-R.zip"
DVRFlash_v1.1.zip contains a linux binary which
i used. no rebooting in linux needed anymore
after updating the pioneers firmware.
With oss dvd 2.01a18 i get 9572327.62 bytes/sec
, or 9.35 Mbytes/sec. It can go faster though,
as i only have a PII Xeon machine running at
450MHz. And the really good news : i used a EUR
1.25 Gigamaster-RT04 4x DVD-R, which is
RITEK.G04 and with this firmware and oss dvd
2.01a18 i burn these at 8x speed.
see http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?p=95166
for details.
