The phpBB Blog system turns a phpBB forum into a blog. It comes with a sample template, and is easily embedded in a home page. It also provides an RSS feed.

Recent releases


Changes: This release comes with a handful of bugfixes, including compatibility with phpBB 2.0.18+. The RSS feed should now be iTunes compatible. The odd formatting of the calendar for January 2006 was fixed. This release also includes new features, such as the ability to disable trackbacks, and an optional comment interface, so readers don't have to jump into the forum itself.


Changes: Errors in the docs were corrected. The display of smilies was corrected, as they weren't showing up in certain cases.


Changes: A calendar was added on the blog page. The pwd.php file was added to help people figure out $phpbb_root_path (in the settings file).


Changes: It is now possible to do podcasting with the optional phpBB Podcast mod. This release featured new stylesheets, more GEO meta tags, and admin edits for trackbacks. It uses Google's nofollow attribute for trackback links, no longer requires PHP to have short_open_tags enabled, and comes with revamped documentation. Other small fixes were made.


Changes: This release includes better handling of international character sets, adds support for display of avatars, and improves the documentation.
