Poppler is a PDF rendering library derived from xpdf. It has been enhanced to utilize modern libraries such as freetype and cairo for better rendering. It also provides basic command line utilities.

Changes: Many features were added, such as support for colorizing text in pattern colorspace, the possibility of forcing no hinting of fonts in the Splash backend, support for multiple page sizes when converting to PostScript, and handling of Streams in CMap definitions. More work was done on Annotations support. Several minor bugs were fixed. The GLib and Qt4 frontends were improved, along with their demos and documentation.


Changes: Fixes were made for some cases of decryption with user password, for the linking of the pdftoabw binary, for the rendering of axial shadings, and for an out of bounds access in GfxCIDFont.


Changes: Initial support for color management was added. Annotations support was improved. Many Cairo enhancements were made. Several other optimizations and improvements were made.


Changes: This release fixes several security problems related to parsing broken JBIG2 files, parsing of incorrect border arrays, behavior of font size changes, and several build problems.


Changes: A CairoOutputDev crash and a JBIG2Stream input instability were resolved. Rendering of some PDFs with OpenType fonts was fixed. Several other bugs were fixed. The build system was improved.
