Posadis is a domain name server for Unix and Win32 systems. It can both act as an authoritive and as a caching DNS server, and it supports standard DNS master files, zone transfers, and DNS Notify. Its modular structure allows plug-ins to define new zone types and add new functionality.

Recent releases


Changes: Some minor bugfixes were made. Posadis now pauses in case of fatal errors.


Changes: An option to dump the cache to file and re-load it on server startup was added. Many smaller bugfixes were made.


Changes: This is the first real release of Posadis to support (dynamic) DNS Update. Also added are more advanced address match lists, dumping the cache to file and loading from file, a switch to pkgconfig, and some minor bugfixes.


Changes: This release fixes an issue in the Posadis cache that could cause Posadis to take up 100% CPU usage and stop answering queries. Additionally, support for initial cache files was added.


Changes: A bug where KILLing Posadis would not work in some cases has been fixed. There are two smaller bugfixes.
