PrinterSetup

PrinterSetup is a flexible printer setup system. It is tailored to institutions with more than 20 deployed printers. It is designed to work with CUPS on Mac OS X. PrinterSetup is a component of PrintingWorks, a print accounting solution. There is limited documentation. Apple package deployment requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later, and is untested on earlier versions. Apple package development requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later and Xcode 3.0 or later.

Changes: This release includes the second incarnation of the dynamic deployment system for Mac OS X. A key aspect of this release is how much less time it takes to get the dynamic deployment system packaged up and deployed to client machines for a specific domain. You no longer need to edit the various files by hand. Instead, you can run a script which will copy the template and configure them to your domain.

The directory for this droplet is called "PrinterSetupGeneratePLF". This release also has support for Ubuntu Linux. In addition, the CUPS to PSF converter has been improved to better support older versions of CUPS and there is now also an AppleScript interface. Other minor bugs were fixed.
