prokyon3 is a multithreaded music manager and tag editor. It can access MP3, Ogg, and FLAC files on hard disk, CDROM, SMB, and NFS. Files can be played using XMMS or other players. The file view is customizable and favorite artists are supported. prokyon3 also offers an editor for ID3 and Ogg tags and has been designed to support tagging large quantities of files.

You can turn off some features during *configure* to get rid of some dependencies, which should make the installation easier.
But as soon as 0.9.3 is final, we will provide rpms and a full static binary. These packages should solve installation problems.

This is what I've been waiting for a long time. Several thousands of mp3's and ogg's are clearly arranged in a very fast database and you can get hands on them very easy.
