Quamachi is a GUI for Hamachi, a zero-configuration virtual private networking (VPN) application, that resides in the System Tray. It allows you to access VPNs, browse remote Samba file shares, remotely control computers via SSH and VNC, and flexibly choose optional dependencies.

Changes: The Help menu now has a link to the Autopackage website. Error messages are silenced if the Main window isn't visible. The TunCfg? binary is now searched for using multiple methods. Python processes now use the new 'subprocess' module. Several minor changes were made to the code structure.


Changes: Options files were added to choose preferred external applications. The option to prefer sudo is now available via the "Settings" dialog. The nickname of the local user is now displayed. An autopackage script is now available for all distributions. Session restore reloads Quamachi when starting Xfce. Documentation is now available in HTML. Icons are borrowed from the Oxygen theme when possible. Menu entries were added for "Verbose" and "Review" for debugging. Verbose mode is now more consistently implemented.


Changes: Initial support for KDE 4 was added. Session restoration reloads Quamachi when starting KDE. A VNC option was added to make remote virtual network connections. An SSH option was added to make remote secure shell connections. Proxy support now uses the "http_proxy" environment variable while updating. Tests were added for the existence of required external binaries when starting. KdeSudo is now used instead of "kdesu" if it is installed. The extra error dialogs when updating while offline were removed. Context menu items are now only shown and active when applicable. The "hamachi" executable is now expanded via "upx" on Kubuntu.


Changes: An update option was added to check for a newer release. Notification is given when a newer release is available. /dev/net/tun is now created by TunCfg if it is absent. Subtle improvements were made to the help menu. The dialog item spacing in the GUI was compressed.


Changes: In Grep, an URL was added to the 'Help' menu. On startup, the website is launched if Hamachi isn't installed. The position of the main window is now remembered between sessions. An option for alternating row colors was added to the 'Settings' dialog. An invisible mode was provided for servers. Several minor code structure changes were made.
