Changes: This release includes the first introduction of new threading technology: NPTL (Native POSIX Thread Library). Several core components were upgraded: Linux kernel 2.4.20, GCC 3.2.1, GNU libc 2.3 (with NPTL), and a Web server powered by Apache 2.0.

    Still jokin'? It's more than 6 month old release now...
    I saw RedHat 8.0 released today... on the today's .rdf
    news on my KDE news ticker on my 4-5 month old RedHat
    8.0 instalation... wha't is that suposed to mean? Do I live
    in the future or freshmeat are adding RedHat to their
    directory now? Infact how do ya get info about new
    releases - users/authors/automatic web spider?

    The entire 7.x was 2.96-RH, 6.2 wasn't 2.95, it was egcs 1.1.2
