The RIPE Whois server uses a backend SQL database to allow support for very large repositories. There is support for IPv6 records and lookups. Both RPSL and RIPE181 are supported.

Recent releases


Changes: LIMERICK records have been upgraded to a more generic POEM type. ORGANIZATION records have been added. Reverse DNS registry checking has been added. A Perl RPSL library has been added. dbupdate is now aware of X.509. The build code is now fully based on autoconf/automake. RPSL variant support can be selected at build time.
