Changes: This release focuses mostly on notation enhancements, although there are also substantial bugfixes in other areas.

Changes: This release fixes a couple of significant bugs in the previous 1.6.0 feature release. Most importantly, un-ramped tempo changes were incorrectly saved as if they were ramped.

Changes: This release features diatonic transpose capabilities, support for fretboards in notation, many enhancements to Lilypond export and previewing, a more usable configuration dialog, better support for infrared remote controls via IRKick, and many other enhancements and fixes.

Changes: This release contains a number of new features, notably audio time-stretching support, and many usability improvements, particularly in the matrix view. This is also an interesting release from a developer perspective, because the source code has been completely reorganized into a new directory structure with a far more consistent file naming and organization scheme. The build system was changed again, from scons to cmake.

Changes: This release includes a number of significant new features, including true multitrack MIDI recording, ramped tempos, cut and paste of time ranges across all segments, better Lilypond output, better support for transposing instruments, and a database of acoustic instrument ranges, transpositions, and clefs.

Done -- thanks admins!

If it were possible to do so, I think all mention of Full Application 2.1pl4 should be removed from this project page or at least relegated to a brief historical footnote. It is too confusing for potential new users who cannot be expected to know that "Full Application" is worse than "Development". As it stands, new users who read this page and click on "Full Application" don't get a very good first impression: a broken redirection link for 2.1pl4.

This complete overhaul is the purpose of the Rosegarden-4 project.
UI improvements
The application is severly limited by its interface, it's just too difficult to make quick
edits and move notes around. The entire layout
really needs a complete overhaul in my opinion.
On the technicaly side, there are a lot of
compatability problems with newer drivers,
including ALSA MIDI. Even with OSS emulation
it's not being detected or working properly.
