routeplanner is a highway trip planner, designed for planning trips between cities. Currently includes two databases of North American highways, with other areas planned for the future.

Changes: The map data for British Columbia and southern Alberta were added to the database.

Changes: A split into two separate packages for the GNOME interface and the console interface, more detail to Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee in the North American database, and the development version is now in Sourceforge CVS.

Changes: Some routing problems near Hamilton, Alabama were fixed, and the Georgia data was updatged to use the new mile-based exit numbering system. Also, a bug in the glade user interface description for RouteEdit was fixed.

Changes: Updates to the large database with information on highways and ferry routes in the Canadian Maritime provinces and some fill-in work in Arkansas and Mississippi, and fixes for a few bugs in the route editor. Packages in .deb (tested) and .rpm (untested) formats are now provided at Sourceforge.

Changes: The database editor is now complete, and databases can now be loaded and saved in compressed (gzip) format. Some external dependencies were removed (the command-line client should now run on a bare Python install; it even runs--slowly--with jpython), and there are new routing preferences for toll roads and scenic routes, and improvements to both databases.
