rpmrebuild is a tool to build an RPM file from a package that has already been installed. It can be used to easily build modified packages, and works on any Linux distribution that uses RPM.

Recent releases


Changes: Previous releases of rpmrebuild are broken with rpm version 4.6 or later (such as the version included in Fedora 10). This release is designed to fix this problem, and can work with all rpm 4.x versions. rpm 3.x versions are not supported any more.


Changes: This release fixes a problem with the last Mandriva releases. A new Mandriva security measure on rpmbuild has to be bypassed.


Changes: A problem that occurred when working on an RPM file with a path was fixed.


Changes: A bug where the --pug-from-fs option did not keep the UID/GID was fixed. Two new plugins were added to help users understand and develop their own plugins. A UTF-8 French localization was included.


Changes: rpmrebuild now support message localization. Two translations are currently available: English and French. The man pages were also translated.
