RUNT

RUNT (ResNet USB Network Tester) is Slackware Linux designed to run off of a 128 MB USB pen drive. It consists of a boot floppy image and a zip file, similar to zipslack. It is intended to be a fairly complete Linux installation for use as a testing tool capable of booting on any x86 computer with a USB port and a bootable floppy drive.

Changes: This version was rebuilt from Slackware 11.0. iproute2 and stunnel were added. Nearly every package was updated, including kernel 2.4.33.3. Most SATA controllers are suported. Prism54 wireless drivers are included. The distribution is now larger than a 128 MB drive, and requires about 200 MB.

Changes: This version features scripts to make USB booting easier, the bootdisk can now be created from the pen drive, there is now keyboard layout selection by typing 'keymap' at the boot prompt. This version is based on Slackware 10.0 with kernel 2.4.26, and now has support for Nforce built-in ethernet devices.

Changes: This release upgrades the kernel to 2.4.24, lftp to 2.6.10, and rsync to 2.5.7.

Changes: This release is based on Slackware 9.1, and includes kernel 2.4.22. It includes iptraf (for network monitoring), iptables, and CD/DVD writing tools. SCSI controllers are now supported through hotplug. memtest was removed due to increased kernel size, but can still be run if booting directly off the USB drive.
