SDE for NetBeans Community Edition

SDE for NetBeans is a UML modeling environment tightly integrated with NetBeans. It lets you draw all types of UML diagrams (use case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram, activity diagram, etc.) in NetBeans, reverse source code (Java, C++, XML, XML Schema, CORBA IDL, etc.) to UML models, and generate Java source from UML diagrams. It features a Rational Rose importer, an XMI importer, HTML/PDF documentation generators, and plug-in and template support.

Changes: Branch and tag capability was added to the VP Teamwork Server with Subversion and CVS repository integration. This allows different modeling projects to be run in parallel while keeping the release quality project stable in the trunk. A user interface designer was introduced for creating screen mock-ups in the early stages of a software development project. Usability of the sequence diagram was increased. There were also a number of enhancements for various other features.

Changes: Reverse engineering of ERD from DDL was introduced. ERD models like entities, views, and relationships can be generated by reversing the data definition language. Images can be incorporated into documentation. Documentation structure can be saved as a template for reuse in other models. Hibernate annotations are supported in ORM persistence. Hibernate version tags can be generated for optimistic concurrency control. Ada95 and Flash ActionScript 3.0 code can be generated through the Instant generator. There are also a number of enhancements for the modeling features.

Changes: Integration with CVS and SVN was added. Importing and exporting UML2 models is supported through XMI. More types of candidate object can be identified from textual analysis. Element sorting in reports was added. Diagrams can be grouped by category in the diagram navigator. ERD is conformed to database by enhanced database reverse. Participants will be shown in the business process report. Business use case is supported. The FrontBase database is supported. A diagram summary can be included in report generation.
