Sequoia provides high availability and performance scalability for databases. It is is the continuation of the C-JDBC project. It provides transparent database clustering (partitioning, replication, etc.). It works with any Java application without code modification and with any database engine. It has been successfully tested with Tomcat, JBoss, JOnAS, WebSphere, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Derby, HSQLDB, SAP DB, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL Server, Firebird, and more.

Recent releases


Changes: This release accumulates about a year of stability patches and a couple of new features mostly for production users. Compliance to API specifications has been improved, and additional support for embedded databases has been added.


Changes: This release fixes a compatibility problem between Appia and Hedera that was introduced by the previous release. The 2.10.8 release was delivered with an incorrect appia.jar (3.2.3).


Changes: This stable release includes better memory handling and elimination of major out-of-memory errors. The virtual database restart ordering has been fixed and it is no longer possible to clear logs accidentally. This release is certified against JDK 1.6. Additional fixes are provided for a number of virtual database race conditions, especially the problem where a checkpoint hangs waiting for n open transactions.


Changes: This release includes a bugfix critical for MySQL users that need to handle autoincrement in tables that have a quoted name, especially for backup/restore operations.


Changes: This release offers support for network detection partition and basic reconciliation as well as improved recovery log tolerance to connection timeouts or transient DB connectivity errors. Schema fetching speed has been greatly improved. Additional abort commands have been added to the console, and HSQLDB has been upgraded.
