SER or SIP Express Router is a very fast and flexible SIP (RFC3261) server. It can handle thousands of calls per second on low-budget hadware. A C shell-like scripting language provides full control over the server's behavior. Its modular architecture allows only required functionality to be loaded. The following modules are available: accounting, digest authentication, CPL scripts, ENUM support, instant messaging, MySQL support, PostgreSQL support, a presence agent, Radius authentication and accounting, Diameter authentication, record routing, an SMS gateway, a Jabber gateway, NAT traversal support transaction module, a registrar, and user location.

Changes: Added experimental support for OS X, support for multiple private enum trees, and a variety of nathelper improvements.


Changes: This release adds a new subst function in the textops module, a new commandline option for checking the configuration file, and extended operator support in the configuration file. The new commands set_advertised_address and set_advertised_port can be used to control what IP address will be printed in SIP messages (useful for NAT traversal). The Remote-Party-ID value can now be stored in the database (in addition to the radius server). The permissions of the FIFO interface are now more restrictive. Some minor bugs in different modules have been fixed.


Changes: This release includes many significant changes. It is fully RFC3261 compliant. New features include cross-protocol forwarding, TCP, loose routing, ENUM support, hosting of multiple domains, improved accounting, full integration with radius, NetBSD support, experimental PostgreSQL support, updated documentation, and a voicemail interface. A SIP tutorial is included.


Changes: In this version, authentication of CANCEL will always succeed, there is now a separate package for the Jabber module, there are some FreeBSD mysql bugfixes, there is OpenBSD (3.2) partial support, and there are some textop module bugfixes, MySQL accounting support, and a Jabber module cleanup.

This proxy is really fast - 300 calls per second on a IPAQ. That is over 9 billion calls per year. On a Beowulf cluster it could probably do more calls that are made in the world.
