SnackAmp is a multi-platform audio file and streaming music (MP3,Ogg, wav, etc.) player and file organizer suitable for very large music collections. Stand alone executables for Windows or Linux are available for download. An integrated Web server provides the ability to remote control the client and serve your music collection as streaming audio.

Changes: A bug which occurred when opening existing playlists was fixed. An experimental socket API (similar to XMMS remote interface) was added. A bug was fixed to make sure the playlist always has the correct key.


Changes: Taskbar icons on windows were added. An option in ID3 tagging to zero pad track numbers was added. Handling of default ID3 tags during group editing was improved. The ID3 group editor layout was simplified. The moving folders error message was fixed. Errors in the ID3 tag editor were fixed. The error caused by removing a directory (node) from the tree was fixed. The improper handling localized characters was fixed.

Changes: Added custom genres capability was added. The ability to edit ID3V2 tags was added, including Unicode support. Album art is supported in the main GUI, including Google search. Native drag-n-drop is supported. Support for managing tracks on media players and other removable media devices was added. Named schemes were implemented for colors and fonts. A new and improved layout is used for the player, which can optionally hide labels. True gapless playback is supported for all file types. WinLIRC and LIRC are supported. The Web interfaces were improved.


Changes: metakit is now used for the database. MUI tweaks were made. The playlist can now display user-selected data. True gapless playback is supported for all file types. Track Ratings are supported, including setting, filtering, and sorting. Additional user selectable shuffle/sort options were added. The last play time is logged for the sorting options. WinLIRC and LIRC are supported. The Web interfaces were improved. A jukebox interface is now available to allow the user to queue tracks. Some ID3V2 tag reading limitations were corrected.
