Subplay is a script for playing movies with subtitles. It finds files with the same name but different extensions and runs your favourite media player with subtitles. It automaticaly detects Windows-1250 encoding and transforms it to your encoding using iconv.

Changes: Minor fixes in defaults. It is possible to override the defaults by setting the variables in .profile, /etc/sysconfig/subplay, or /etc/subplay.conf.


Changes: This version can play movies with subtitles using mplayer, xine, totem, or aviplay. Subtitle files can be from using the name of a .avi file. GNOME associations are now created with common movie extensions. Windows-1250 subtitles are now automatically converted to UTF-8 or Latin2 encoding.
