The Java SSH/Telnet Application/Applet

The Java(tm) Telnet Applet is a fully featured telnet/SSH program that allows users to connect and login to remote hosts via the Internet or an Intranet using only their WWW Browser. It includes not only telnet-compliant connection services, but also the ability to dynamically load additional Terminal Emulations and plugins. The available plugins are: Socket, Telnet, Terminal, Script, and SSH.

    Changes: OpenSSH support (Blowfish Cipher) was added. The extra cryptix library is no longer needed, and the SSH plugin will nicely connect to OpenSSH servers now.

          Changes: This update fixes a problem introduced by the last release which results in invisible text on screen. It seems that most of the Java implementations in common browsers do not support character encoding of "ISO8859_1" correctly.

          All links appear to be working OK. Downloads all appear to be correct.

          Downloaded the jar file and ran the command line example given, and got a good telnet client to my remote Linux system. A reasonable telnet client, but missing a few nice features.

          The pages pointed to (on www.mud.de) turn up 404. Trying variations on the directories posted doesn't help either.
