The Translate Toolkit is a set of tools designed to assist translators and localisers, with a specific focus on the Gettext PO and XLIFF formats. These tools currently include converters for Mozilla to PO and OpenOffice to PO, and checkers for punctuation, accelerators, etc.

Changes: The poterminology tool was added to help build terminology lists. New converters include po2rc, rc2po, ical2po, and po2ical. Support was improved for Qt .ts and Gettext .mo. Quality checks, indexing, version control, and speed were improved.


Changes: Bugfixes in moz2po and oo2po and fixes for packaging bugs that affected Pootle. Initial support for TMX files was provided in pofilter and pogrep, as well as notes support for TMX files. Some fixes were made to the cpo module. Updates were made to support PyLucene 1 and 2, though issues remain with 2.3. A bug with XML formats that didn't always output the XML declaration was fixed, correcting interoperability with other CAT tools. The generated documentation was fixed. The API documentation is now in translate/doc/api. Some extra support was provided in the lang module with new modules for Urdu and Malayalam.


Changes: Better unescaping of OpenOffice.org SDF files. Faster file access through lxml or libgettextpo. More quality checks Better handling of Uniforum PO, Gettext .mo, WordFast TM, and Qt .qm files. New converters: oo2xliff, xliff2oo, ini2po, po2ini, php2po, and po2php. A new tool: posegment for basic TM segmentation. Unicode normalisation in pogrep. Code cleanups.


Changes: Problems with pocount --csv were fixed. The timezone offset was calculated to cater for the differences bewteen Windows and Linux. oo2po was fixed, as it caused broken PO files in some cases. New PO files are ensured to be initialized if new POT files were introduced. Some updates were made to quality checks, including introducing some more test dependencies so that frequently co-occurring errors should happen less often. Most tools will now also ignore the _darcs directory when looking for files. The poglossary script is included.


Changes: Improved XLIFF support. Many tools can now work with XLIFF files. More human-friendly XML output. PO output conforms better to gettext conventions. Fuzzy matching in pot2po is now optional. Improved performance, especially in pot2po and pocount. A language module that helps pofilter understand languages differences with provisional customisations for the following locales: am, ar, el, fa, fr, he, hy, ja, km, vi, and zh. The long-standing problem with the Qt .ts converter has been fixed. Improvements in the converters. Some initial support for reading from and writing to compressed files.
