^txt2regex$
^txt2regex$ is a Regular Expression "wizard", written with bash2 builtins, that converts human sentences to regular expressions. With a simple interface, you just answer questions and build your own regexp for a large variety of programs, such as awk, ed, emacs, grep, Perl, PHP, procmail, Python, sed, and vim (there are more than 20 supported programs). As it is written in bash, no compilation is required.

Changes: This release adds support for OpenOffice.org regexes, and new translations for Romanian/Spanish/Italian languages. There is a new man page, and the bash-3.x bug was fixed.

Changes: A new really handy --make option to get ready-to-use common regexes (date, hour, number), a new --prog option to choose which programs to use, quantifiable groups, new Japanese translations, a man page, and a "Really quit?" message.

Changes: This release adds the option --showmeta to show a table with all metachars for all programs and the option --showinfo to show regex information about a specific program.
