    Changes: mount defaults to CIFS instead of SMBFS for sources starting with //. There are flock documentation updates. There is a new translation (id) and updated translations (de, it, sl, and uk).

      Changes: getopt has been updated to 1.1.4. All *llseek variants have been replaced with lseek. There are miscellaneous build system, code, and documentation cleanups and fixes. The French and Italian translations have been updated.

        Changes: This release updates to cramfs-1.1 and removes PAGE_CACHE_SIZE usage for {fsck,mkfs}.cramfs, fixes "umount -n -r", adds miscellaneous build system and code cleanups and fixes, and updates the ca translation.

          Changes: fdisk is no longer built on m68k. Miscellaneous build system and documentation fixes were made. The "clear" program was removed.

            Changes: Miscellaneous buld system fixes were made. A segfault with ReiserFS partitions was fixed in cfdisk. The -r option of umount is now disallowed for non-root users. The translations were updated for da, fr, it, nl, ru, sl, and tr.

            The site isn't/wasn't down, some clients (mostly browsers) don't follow symlinks properly.

            That's a bit odd, there are dozens of mirrors for
            ftp.us.kernel.org, mine is one of them and I know
            it's up. ftp.us.kernel.org is a round-robin DNS.
