Version 1.0.11 of Video Contact Sheet *NIX

Deriving timecodes from number of captures by default has been corrected. There is a workaround for MPlayer's strange behaviour with some videos/systems, better support for older versions of bash, some suport for busybox's du, and better alignment for extended set. FOURCC for VC-1 has been added.

Changes: Some Real Audio codec names were added (v4, v5, and v6). A fallback was added for the default font on systems that don't register fonts with ImageMagick. Extra temporary directories are now cleaned up correctly, and a fix was made for non-GNU implementations of awk (e.g. mawk).

Changes: A name was added for the FLV1 codec (which is used in older Flash videos). Warnings about the DEFAULT_* configuration variables that were accidentally removed in the previous release were added again. A check of ImageMagick's version that should work in all systems was added.

Changes: Height can be defined as a percentage and from configuration files. Output filename can be set manually. Cosmetic tweaks: default font, heading background, tighter padding (can now be disabled too), smaller timestamps, and more. Better DVD support. FreeBSD support on par with Linux. Simplified help text. Better handling of non-Latin filenames. Better aspect ratio detection. Other bugfixes.

Changes: Preliminary support for operating systems other than Linux (especially FreeBSD). This release will not fail if tput fails to set the console color. This release will check for requirements early, and shouldn't die silently.

Changes: Experimental support for DVDs (-V). JPEG 2000 output format (-j2). Polaroid mode has been renamed to photos mode, and polaroid and polaroidframe modes have been introduced. There are slight adjustments in the timestamp size based on capture size. There is better detection of video frame rate (no more 1.000 FPS, in theory) and audio channels number by using ffmpeg. Overlap mode putting all images on the same location (possibly only with newer versions of ImageMagick) has been fixed.
