WebCleaner is a filtering HTTP proxy. It can disable animated GIFs, compress documents on-the-fly (with gzip), add/remove HTTP headers, and remove unwanted HTML (adverts, Javascript, etc.). It can be customized to your needs.

Changes: Compatibility problems with Internet Explorer and the Compress filter have been fixed. The Blocker filter now allows absolute block URLs. The sets of blacklisted domains and advertisement servers have been updated.


Changes: Compatibility with Firefox 1.5.0.4 has been restored. The MIME type matching detects more XML and HTML documents. The performance of JavaScript processing has been improved.


Changes: A socket leak on connection timeouts has been fixed. Proxy users cannot connect to arbitrary ports through the HTTP CONNECT method anymore. An Internet Explorer crash on to many nested object tags is prevented. The advertising and blacklist filter lists have been updated.


Changes: The Windows .exe installer has been improved with a graphical user interface. The HTML parser recognizes embedded JavaScript better. The saving of folder rules on Windows systems has been fixed. The HTML security filter prevents several new security issues. HTTP header names are always treated as case insensitive. FTP redirections in HTML pages are now allowed.


Changes: Optional quotes from HTML redirection URLs are stripped. The filter module configuration is controllable by hostname suffixes. For HTML width and height attributes, floating point numbers are accepted, but are converted to integer values.
