WidgetWeb is a framework for creating community-shared Web sites similar to wikis. These are Web sites where content and page composition can be edited via a Web browser. A powerful permission model is provided to restrict which community members are allowed to edit. WidgetWeb is built on a simple premise: components comprise a web page and components can be nested to create more complicated effects. This provides for easy browser-based editing.

Granted, it's just alpha, but all it needs is some user documentation and a more full-featured user-management UI and it could really go places.
Also, the ability to plugin a standard JAAS (Java Authentication and Authorization Security) service would make for better acceptance as well.
It's the logical next step to make normally ugly Wiki commonplace.
