WP Clipart is an attempt to make a useful clip art package of public domain images for use in word processors. It includes an optional cross-platform viewer/editor written with Python/GTK. The collection contains primarily non-transparent PNG images, mid-tones expanded and large shadow areas minimized (to prevent blocking-up) for inkjet print quality. It is suitable for documents as well as Web graphics, but also has business application. Its primary focus is for educational use (pictures of all US presidents, all country flags alphabetically listed, all US states, historical figures, a sign language alphabet, and a large American history section.)

Changes: The viewer/editor now works with transparent images (except for a few transform functions, which are disabled when viewing a transparent image). Clip art and pictures are included in the full download, numbering over 30,000. A few other GUI tweaks were made to the viewer.

Changes: Wpclipper.py was updated to allow horizontal resizing to make viewing long title names easier. A bit of code cleanup was done. The updated install package was re-released and the runBrowser command (for the homepage link) was accommodated on Absolute Linux. As always, the stand-alone Python script for the viewer/editor is available online in the wpclipart.com/viewer directory. (No Glade or other support modules are used.)

Changes: Due to collection size, the program's download is being split into sections. The viewer/editor script (or executable for Windows) will accompany each clip art category. The first category is "holiday"; others will follow until all 48 clip art sections are available for download. This version also includes added clip art, updated program internal documentation, and a minor bugfix to eliminate a possible display warning on rapid image changes.

Changes: This release adds a few hundred pieces of clip art. It has quite a bit of editing to improve images. All "fair use" photos and clips have been removed (425 deleted), so that all images are now Public Domain and users don't have to be confused about usage.

Changes: Included clip art has been updated to 21,005 images. The Windows installer package has been corrected to properly enable browsing/editing of JPEG files as well as PNG.
