XDM-Choose is a replacement chooser for XDM, which presents a slightly more user-friendly interface than the default chooser. It allows the user to type in a host name, then either query the host (to see if it is up and accepting), or connect to the host. The majority of options are configurable via the conf file (xdmchoose.conf). A small utility "xdmping" comes with it, which allows a command-line probe of an XDM host's willingness to manage a session.
