yavipin

Yavipind is a secure tunnel (2 peers securely forwarding packets toward each other). It forwards any kind of packet (IPv4, IPv6, or other) sent over the virtual point-to-point device (e.g., tun0). It runs in Linux userspace.

Changes: yavipin was ported to ethertap, which helps it use the Linux kernel 2.2. Minor bug fixes were also made.

Changes: Addresses binding has been simplified (using defaults when possible). "--comp=algo" has been added to select the compression algorithm.

Changes: The text of the GPL was added to the source. Long options for the command line were added, and short options are no longer supported. The --enc=algo and --mac=algo options were added to choose the block cipher and the mac function used once the tunnel is established.

Changes: A bug in setting the virtual device MTU has been fixed. Minor improvements were made in error reporting.

Changes: Support for forward secrecy was added. Even if an attacker cracks the box, he won't be able to read traffic older than a specified delay (default 10 minutes). Other minor modifications were also made.
