Zekr is an open platform for research and development on the Holy Quran. It is a Quran-based project, planned to be a universal, open source, cross-platform application to perform most of the usual references to the Quran. The main idea is to build as generic a platform as possible to be capable of having different add-ins for its tasks.

Changes: Quran Recitation support was added. More advanced navigation through Juzs, Hizbs, et cetera was implemented. An alpha enabled splash screen was added.


Changes: Advanced search using the Lucene full-text search library (Boolean operators, groups, wild cards, scopes, fuzzy search, etc.). An Uthman Taha theme featuring the me_quran font. Two versions of the Quran text: detailed and simplified. HTML export for bookmark sets. A new button in the "Manage Bookmark Sets" form to export any bookmark set into a single HTML file. Basic command line support: -index, -clean, and -workspace. Two new language packs: Pashto and Bosnian.


Changes: A bookmarking feature was added, allowing the user to manage, export, and import bookmarks. The user can also search for aya references through bookmarks. Multiple translations are supported with a custom mixed layout.


Changes: A helper navigation bar, a managed search (scoped search), and a translation search were added. Four new language packs were added: Malay, Turkish, Dutch, and Kurdish.


Changes: Full theme and translation management was implemented.
