Changes: Administrators can now control the appearance of Zorum now with the help of the themes support. There are some predefined themes that serve as an example for those who want to create their own. Publishers can now control the display period of the articles with two new options in the topics.

Changes: Administrators can now see real time statistics about visitors, new users, and registrations on daily, weekly, and monthly basis. With the new priority attribute, articles can be easily sorted on the portal pages.

But.. this looks a lot like an older version of PHP-Nuke which uses mysql and php for backends. The layout is the same, the boxes are labeled the same, catagories, polls, themes, who is online,... all the same.
I commend you for your attempt but I don't see the reason for re-writing something that has already been done.
