About:
Qryptix consists of a PAM object and utilities for
session- and key-management for encrypted home
directories using the International Kernel
(CryptoAPI) patches for Linux. It simplifies
login/logout, mounting/unmounting, and key
generation and changing.
Release focus: Major feature enhancements
Changes:
The salt string that is stored with each key (and
used for passphrase hashing) has been increased to
48 bits to deter dictionary attacks; earlier
keyfiles with 24-bit salt will still work. If
openssh-server (sshd) is installed, it now allows
remote logins (using ssh) into a
cryptoloop-encrypted home directory. The install
instructions now show how to setup multistage
cryptoloops (like 2AES, etc.) when creating a
keyfile.
