About:
Speex is a patent-free compression format designed especially for speech. It is specialized for voice communications at low bit-rates in the 2-45 kbps range. Possible applications include Voice over IP (VoIP), Internet audio streaming, audio books, and archiving of speech data (e.g. voice mail).
Release focus: Minor bugfixes
Changes:
Headers are now in /usr/include/speex/ (but a copy is still in /usr/include for compatibility reasons). Also, there is now support for gapless playback (i.e. playback has the same number of samples). Last but not least, there's a fix for a potential bug (it's not confirmed that it could ever be triggered) that might cause a segfault in special circumstances.
