About:
pamtester is a tiny utility program to test the
pluggable authentication modules (PAM) facility.
While specifically designed to help PAM module
authors to test their own modules, it might also
be handy for system administrators interested in
building a centralized authentication system using
common standards such as NIS, SASL, and LDAP.
Release focus: Minor bugfixes
Changes:
The --with-pam, --with-pam-includes, and
--with-pam-libs options were added to allow you to
use an arbitrary PAM implementation installed
anywhere. A bug was fixed in the -I option in
which the name of the item was wrongly given to
pam_set_item() instead of the value.
